Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Kisoro, a border town in Uganda
Upon your arrival, your safari guide will pick you and head to Kisoro on Uganda boarder, a drive that will take you through wonderful views of beautiful rolling hills of Virunga Mountains passing via Ruhengeri in northern part of Rwanda and continuing to Katuna boarder. Cross over to Uganda for guided nature walk, visit the natural, beautiful-looking Lake Mutanda, surrounded by the volcanoes. Dinner and overnight stay at Travelers Rest Hotel/ Kisoro Tourist Hotel.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Virunga
After a heavy breakfast, you will transfer to the Bunagana border with Congo, cross and drive to the Park Headquarters to catch up with the briefing about gorilla tracking dos and don’ts before setting off into the forest to track gorillas in Parc National des Virunga of Congo for the memorable experience. During the trekking, you will be exposed to excellent birding and primates such as the Golden Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Black and White colobus monkey, and giant forest hogs among others. You will stay with these beautiful primates for a maximum of one hour, enjoy the way they associate with others, take photos and afterwards return for some refreshments at the your lodge, check out and embark on a charming drive back to Kigali reaching in the evening for your departure.
