10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Airport Transfer to Kampala for City Tour.
Our company tour guide will meet you up from the airport and will drive you to Kampala Uganda’s capital. Check in at your hotel, freshen up and proceed out on a Kampala city tour. Depending on the time or arrival, you will visit the Uganda Museum a display of all Uganda cultures National Theatre centre for art crafts shops. Visit the mysterious Kasubi tombs – a burial ground for Buganda Kings.

Day 2: Kampala – Kibale Chimpanzee Forest
Have your breakfast early, and drive off to Kibale National Park, passing through Fort portal where you will have a lunch stop before driving to Ndali lodge or Primates Lodgewhere you will stay on a full board basis prior to tomorrow’s chimpanzee tracking.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking
Breakfast, and proceed out to the Kibale park headquarters for briefing and enter the forest to track chimps. Expect to view other primates including; red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkeys. Tracking the chimpanzee our ‘cousin’ is a very interesting experience. Back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon visit the Bigodi swamp for birding or enjoy unique view of crater lakes and other volcanic features. Drive to Fort Portal town and overnight at Rwenzori View Guest House or Travelers.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Today wake up early for breakfast, drive for Queen Elizabeth National Park, on arrival, you will have a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel where you will view the concentration of water birds, hippos and crocodiles which is amazing. The bird species includes the black bee- eater, 11 types of king fisher, and several species of falcons, eagles and the raptors and many more. Dinner and overnight Mweya Safari Lodge or Simba Safari Camp.

Day 5: Game drive and Launch Cruise
Have an early morning breakfast you will go for an early game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and relax at your hotel. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise where you will spot various water animals and birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight Mweya Safari Lodge or Simba Safari Camp.

Day 6: Tranfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Today you will wake up early and have breakfast and embark on a guided chimps tracking into the Kyambura gorge to track chimps. With packed lunch leave depart Queen Elizabeth to Kabale. Arrive in the evening at Kabale and proceed to dramatically scenic Lake Bunyonyi. Overnight at Bunyonyi Safari Resort, Overland camp or Arcadia Cottages.

Day 7: Morning Boat Ride – Cross to Rwanda.
Start off your day with breakfast after which go for a morning take a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to the Islands seeing a different bird species and other local community activities. After early lunch, drive to cross the Uganda -Rwanda border at Katuna and drive Ruhengeri via Kigali to have an overnight at Kinigi Guest House, La Palme Hotel or Gorilla Nest Lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla tracking – Back to Uganda
Have breakfast and packed lunch and drive off toVolcanoes National Park headquarters where the local guides will lead you to track gorillas. The time taken and the terrain vary according to the movement of the gorillas. Return to the lodge for lunch and get ready to cross border to Uganda and overnight in Kisoro/Kabale town.

Day 9: Return to Kampala
After Breakfast, drive to Kampala with lunch stop on the way. Stopover on your way could be in Ankole grassland where long horned cattle are common sight. Continue southwards stopping at Mpambire in Mpigi an art and craft center where drum making technology has been passed on from generation to generation. Check in at Cassia Lodge or The Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Departure
If time allows, visit Botanical gardens before transfer to the airport for your homebound flight.
