Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Aiport, meet our driver guide who will briefly guide you through the flow of the itinerary and then start off the journey. The drive time from Kampala to Kibale forest is roughly 6 hours. You will have a stop at Nakayima tree believed to be a spiritual l tree with healing powers and attachments. You will find local people praying and performing rituals at this tree. Proceed for a lunch break in Fort portal also known as the tourism city of Uganda. Enjoy a drive through this beautiful and clean city and proceed to the park arriving in the evening.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland walk
In the early morning after your heavy breakfast, transfer to Kanyanchu Visitor Information here briefing and registration take place. You will be assigned one chimpanzee community to visit. The trek to meet the endangered chimpanzees begins at 8:00am guided by armed park rangers. Chimpanzees are known for their loud laughs and shouts that you can hear from a distance. On meeting the chimpanzees, spend an hour embracing the social behaviors of these endangered primates in their natural habitats. Take pictures and videos for remembrance and enjoy this lifetime experience. Return to your lodge for late lunch and in the evening for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary to explore the hidden gem of this natural environment. The wetland is home to many primates, birds, amphibians and reptiles waiting for you. Return to your lodge for an overnight
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & community tour
Today you will enjoy morning sleep and a relaxed breakfast at your lodge in Kibale Forest National Park. Thereafter, get ready for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via fort portal. Arrive in the afternoon for lunch and in the afternoon go for a community tour in Kasoga community to meet and interact with local people. You will enjoy traditional dances, songs, folk songs and other traditional practices that make this people unique.
Day 4: Game Viewing & Launch cruise
This day is for exploring wildlife, birds and the general beauty of Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the morning, you will go for game drives in the savannah plains to see various wild animals grazing and browsing. Do not miss to see lions and predators hunting and feasting on their preys in the one. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to 1000’s of wild animals, which include herds of elephants, lions, Hippos, waterbucks, Topis, Elands, and Impalas among others. Also, drive to see different crater lakes in Queen Elizabeth National Park such as Katwe where salt mining takes place, Lake Nyamunuka where wild animals go for healing when injured, Lake Bunyampaka and Lake Munyanyange which shelter the beautiful greater and lesser flamingoes. Have breakfast and relaxed lunch at your lodge. in the afternoon, go for a guided launch cruise at Kazinga channel. The two hours cruise offers you great sceneries of birds, wild animals and the general park. The banks kazinga channel shelter numerous birds and wild water animals, which you will see up close.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, embark on a drive transferring to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Enjoy this scenic drive via Ishasha sector, which houses the magical tree-climbing lions. Your will diver guide will give you chance to stare at these endangered Kings of Jungle up in the trees. Also, do not miss taking some pictures for remembrance. Have lunch enroute and proceed to Bwindi connecting to any sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Day 6: Mountain gorilla trekking & Batwa cultural tour
The great day for gorilla trekking has finally come! Rise up very early and transfer to the respective park headquarters for pre gorilla trekking briefing and registration. Gorilla family allocation will also take place there and you can choose which family you want to trek based on your hiking abilities. Some gorilla families are hard to trek while others are easy to find. Your armed park ranger will then lead you to the starting point and you start off the trek. Besides gorillas, Bwindi forest also shelters other wild animals, which you may encounter. You are therefore advised to stay in your group and follow the instructions given by your ranger guide. On meeting the endangered primates, you will spend an hour with them! This magical hour is to take pictures, videos and embrace the humanly social behaviors of gorillas, which make them our closet relatives. If time allows in the evening, visit local communities especially Batwa pygmies for a cultural performance.
Day 7: Transfer to Kigali & Departure
After breakfast, checkout and cross over to Kigali in Rwanda. You have a brief your in Kigali city and proceed to the airport for your connecting; flight.
