Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After arrival at Entebbe International Airport or breakfast at your hotel/lodge, the driver guide form our company will come to pick you. He/she will briefly guide you through the trip and then start off the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park. The 8-10 hours drive from Kampala to Bwindi entails multiple stopovers such as at the Equator and food markets among other places. Have an eneroute lunch break in Mbarara city and embark on a drive to Bwindi via Kigezi rolling highlands and local communities.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking & batwa cultural tour

In the early morning, rise up, have breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters where you will be registered and briefed on the guidelines of gorilla trekking. It’s at the park headquarters that you also get porters and walking stick is you wish. Briefing normally starts at 7:00am and you are al expected to be there by that time. After there, you will transfer to the trekking starting point and begin the adventure to meet of the many gorilla families, which live in this jungle forest. Gorilla trekking time vary ranging from 30 minutes to over 7 hours depending on several factors which include your hiking speed and location of the endangered gorillas. However regardless of how long you second in the jungle, the allowed time with the endangered gorillas is strictly an hour. Be calm, keep distance and enjoy this lifetime adventure. Later, you will have a short tour to Batwa pymy communities to learn about their traditional customs and norms.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After having a relaxed breakfast, depart Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park located in western Uganda. Enjoy the drive through beautiful Kabale highlands and local communities and connect to Ishasha sector in the n southern region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Do not miss looking out for the endangered tree-climbing lions, which live in the acacia and fig trees of Ishasha.  The drive through the park offer you chance to see numerous wild animals and birds feeding and resting in the bushes.  Spend the rest of the day relaxed at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 4: Game Viewing & Launch cruise

Wakeup very early and go morning game viewing experience in the savannahs of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Morning game drives in the Park is your best chance to see a variety of eagerly risers feeding and some nocturnal animals that are returning from night hunts. Expect to see many animals, which include Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Hippos, Uganda Kobs, Waterbucks, Warthogs, Bushbucks, Impalas, Topis and Elands among others. Also, enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the park, the green vegetation, Rwenzori mountain ranges and local communities. When you are done with game viewing, return to your lodge for late breakfast, refresh and wait for hot lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise. The boat cruise offer you great views of birds such as Hammerkop, Yellow Billed Stork, African Kingfisher, Open Billed Stork, African Shoebill, Pelicans, Long Tailed Cormorants, White tailed Lark, Papyrus Gonolek, Red Chested Sunbird, Southern Red Bishop and Red necked Spurlow among others. You will also see some animal such as crocodiles, hippos and monitoring Lizards among others relaxed on the banks of the river.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge

Today, you will trek the endangered chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge. Rise up very early, have breakfast and transfer to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Hike down into the underground forest searching for your close relatives. The experience is magical and of its won kind. Like in other chimpanzee destinations, you will be allowed to spend an hour with chimps. The forest also shelter numerous birds, colobus monkeys and ground insects, which you might see. In the evening, you can have an optional game drive to catch up with some wild animals you missed the previous days.

Day 6: Departure

This is the last day of our 6 Days Uganda gorillas and wildlife safari. Have  a relaxed morning breakfast at your lodge, checkout and drive out of the park headed to Kampala for your connecting flight at Entebbe International Airport.
